PDO Threads in Charlotte, NC
PDO threads are a great treatment option for patients who want to achieve significant rejuvenation in the face, but without the use of surgery. At Bednar Cosmetic Surgery, we’re proud to offer PDO thread lifts to give patients a non-surgical facelift alternative. We proudly serve the residents of Charlotte, Mint Hill, Wesley Chapel and the nearby areas of North Carolina.
What are PDO Threads?
PDO threads, or Polydioxanone threads, are threads that are safely absorbable by the body. In cosmetics, these threads can be placed beneath the skin’s surface to lift and rejuvenate the appearance without surgery. After treatment, the body naturally breaks down the PDO threads, a process that stimulates collagen production in the skin. As a result, PDO threads provide both immediate and long-term cosmetic benefits through lifting and strengthening the skin tissue. For these reasons, PDO thread lifts are commonly called a non-surgical facelift! At Bednar Cosmetic Surgery, we may recommend one of the following PDO thread lift treatments:
- MINT™ PDO
What are the Benefits of PDO Threads?
As a non-surgical facelift alternative, PDO threads offer many benefits over rejuvenation procedures. These include:
- Instant results
- Limited downtime
- Minimally-invasive treatment with no scarring
- Results last 1-3 years
How Much Do PDO Threads Cost in Charlotte, NC?
The cost of a PDO thread lift can vary depending on the treatment performed and the extent of treatment needed to satisfy a patient’s cosmetic goals. At Bednar Cosmetic Surgery, we encourage patients to come in for a cosmetic consultation so that we can discuss their goals and develop a personalized treatment plan. Then, we are able to provide the exact costs associated with PDO threads. Be sure to check our specials as we may be offering limited-time deals for this or other treatments.
What is the PDO Thread Lift Treatment Like?
The PDO thread lift treatment begins with the application of a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. Then, needles will be used to place the threads beneath the skin’s surface and guide them through the skin tissue. This can include any number of threads going in various directions, but you’ll be informed of the exact treatment plan during your consultation. As threads are inserted, they attach to the skin tissue to produce an instant lifting. This process generally takes about an hour to complete.
Do PDO Thread Lifts Have Side Effects?
PDO thread lifts may cause minor swelling, bruising and discomfort in the treatment area. Fortunately, these side effects usually subside within two weeks of treatment. Furthermore, these side effects should not interfere with patients’ ability to return to their usual activities. While it’s recommended to rest for 1-2 days after the procedure, patients are able to return to work and other activities within days of treatment.
What Do PDO Thread Lift Results Look Like?
The results from PDO thread lifts are visible immediately, so patients will begin noticing results before leaving their appointment. However, it may take a few weeks for all side effects to fade and reveal the final results of treatment. The body begins absorbing PDO threads immediately, but it can take several months for them to be completely absorbed. Even after this point, new collagen production in the skin can help the PDO thread lift results last even longer. For these reasons, patients can expect their results to last 1 to 3 years.
