| Juvederm Dermal Filler |
|
Dr. Pratt and Dr. Bednar routinely use Juvederm to treat patients who want fuller lips and/or who are unhappy with facial creases. Juvederm is a natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores fullness to lips and to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Juvederm is made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume to the skin. After your treatment, you might have some swelling or redness. This will normally last less than seven days. Sunbathing and cold outdoor activities should be avoided until any redness and swelling disappear. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should avoid the use of Juvederm. Juvederm requires no pre-testing, however, a few precautions should be taken before treatment. Avoid using aspirin products, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements prior to treatment. Doing so may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, discuss this with Dr. Pratt or Dr. Bednar. Treatments are typically scheduled every 6 months - 1 year. Please contact our patient coordinator, Kandace, if you would like more information. She can be reached at 704.541.7654 or by email kandace@metrolinaplastic.com |
